In a symmetric data distribution, the shape on the left side is almost the same as the shape on the right side of the middle. In this type of data distribution, if different measure of centers are calculated (mean, median, and mode), they will have a similar figures that are close together. Symmetric distributions are bell-shaped.
On the other hand, if the data distribution is not symetric, it means the left and the right side of the distribution are not equal and do not have the same shape.
