8+|1+(-15)| how do u solve this ?

Okay the two legs ( as I like to call it ) or the absolute value symbols mean anything inside of it is automatically positive :)


so  | 1 + ( -15 ) |    =    | -14 |

But with the absolute value symbols makes the negative 14 into positive


Now you are left with 8 + 14
