If a 25 ft rope is cut into two sections with one section 4 times as long as the other section, how long is the shorter piece?

Hello There!

The ratio to be used is 1:4
1 + 4 = 5
25/5 = 5
5 x 1 = 5
5 x 4 = 20
The ratio is 5:20

The longer piece is 20 ft
The shorter piece is 5ft.
